The Omnibox isn’t a term I knew until #Tableau 23-2 #data #dataanalysis #salesforce
Turns out that search box in Tableau Cloud has a name I never knew: the Omnibox.

The search box in Tableau Cloud and Tableau Server is officially called the Omnibox.
Clicking into the Omnibox surfaces recent searches, content types and suggestions.
Typing filters the suggestions list against your query, and selecting an asset takes you straight to it.
0:00If you use Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server
0:01you might not know this but the search box
0:03is actually
0:04also called the Omnibox. When you click
0:06into it it comes to life showing you the
0:07different searches
0:08you've done recently but also the different
0:10content types and suggestions. Now if you
0:12start
0:12to type something in there it filters that
0:15list based on your search query and when
0:17you click on
0:17that asset it actually takes you directly
0:19there. So this is called the Omnibox inside
0:21of Tableau
0:22Cloud or Tableau Server.
New name, same Tim
