Ridge Ai with Tableau Public’s “Godmother” - Ellie Fields
Embedded analytics done right! Tim interviews Ellie about Ridge AI, which she co-founded with visualisation researcher Jeff Heer to improve data on the web.
Ridge AI is an embedded analytics platform — a pluggable presentation layer you drop into your own product so your customers get fast, interactive dashboards without you building a BI tool from scratch. It leans hard into AI, with agents that build dashboards, answer questions and handle light data prep, and it renders in the browser on DuckDB and Mosaic for genuinely quick interactivity. It’s early — closed beta right now — but the embedding-first, warehouse-native approach is one of the more interesting bets in the space, and I’ve got a closer look coming.
Browser-native embedded analytics that lets software companies ship interactive, customer-facing dashboards and data agents in hours rather than months.

You don’t need a paid seat to follow along. Here’s the honest route to hands-on Ridge AI for free.
Ridge AI is in closed beta, so there’s no free edition to download and practise with yet — they invite a new cohort each week. The honest route in is to request access and wait for the nod. I’ll update this the moment there’s a self-serve way to try it.
