Replay animations

0:00Hey, in 21.4 Tableau have added the ability

0:03to replay animations in Tableau. Now

0:05animations were

0:06a feature that were introduced way back and

0:08essentially in some dashboards if the

0:10author

0:10has enabled it you'll actually get an

0:12animated transition between various step.

0:14Here I'm looking

0:15at a sample workbook this comes with Table

0:17au in case you're wondering so you can

0:18publish this up

0:19to server and try it for yourself and what

0:21you do need to do with this though is

0:22filter it down to a

0:24much smaller subset of data for the

0:25animation to actually work when published.

0:27So I've filtered

0:28down to furniture here on the right hand

0:30side and you can see that when I switch

0:32between years it

0:33does slowly animate between them so you can

0:35see here that it's illustrating the change

0:37between

0:37the years and what you can now do in 21.4

0:40is if you want to replay that animation

0:42without having

0:42to click the you know years back and forth

0:45or change your filters back and forth over

0:47here on

0:47the top left hand side I'm just cycling it

0:50in green you can see there's a replay

0:52button and

0:53that replay button essentially allows you

0:55to replay the animation and it kind of does

0:57that

0:57for you it kind of goes back to the

0:58previous state and forward again to the

1:00current state

1:01so you can see that animation play out

1:03again so that's pretty much it there's not

1:04much more to

1:05this video than that if you haven't checked
