0:06Let me explain what that is in plain

0:08English. Let's get stuck in.

0:10So the simplest explanation I can give you

0:13is when you go to a website and you have to

0:15log in,

0:16sometimes you get the option to log in with

0:18Google, you get the option to log in with

0:20Facebook,

0:21and you might also get the option to log in

0:23with let's say Amazon or one other service.

0:26In essence, all of those services are

0:28acting as an identity pool and identity

0:31pool is simply a

0:32list of users and their authentication. In

0:35each case, Google, Facebook, Amazon are

0:38providing the

0:39authentication and identity information at

0:42the same time. Authentication is just

0:44validation

0:44that you are who you say you are. And up

0:47until recently, Tableau's only allowed for

0:50a single

0:51identity pool, which means you haven't been

0:53able to give users the ability to log in

0:55with multiple

0:56sources. So a basic example, when you go to

0:59a website, sometimes you can log in with

1:02your email

1:03and password. And in other cases, you can

1:05also log in with your Google account. So in

1:08those cases,

1:09those are two separate identity pools,

1:11authenticating and making sure that you are

1:14the same person. And so that's essentially

1:16what's been enabled here inside of Tableau.

1:18You can see here in the little demo that

1:20they've got on the new release page, they

1:22've got an

1:23example. And what I'll do is I'll put up

1:25some screen capture from Tableau's own

1:28release notes,

1:28because I haven't got a service set up with

1:30identity pools. I can't really show you

1:32this,

1:33but it gives you as an admin potentially

1:35the ability just to see how this is set up.

1:37In essence, there are a few limitations. So

1:39what I'll do is I'll put a link to

1:41documentation

1:42so you can go and find out more about that

1:44as well. But other than that, I just wanted

1:46to

1:46explain this feature in plain English to

1:48every user so you can understand because

1:50Tableau are

1:50bigging this up. It's the fourth most

1:52prominent feature on this page. But if you

1:55don't manage
